Tim Gurner: Workers Have it Too Easy
Tim Gurner, an Australian billionaire real estate developer, snake oil salesman, and grifter, has been in the spotlight for his commentary about the need to control the lower classes through unemployment and financial hardship.
What did Tim Gurner Say?
“I think the problem that we’ve had is that people decided they didn’t really wanna work so much any more and that has a massive issue on productivity.
“Tradies have definitely pulled back on productivity. They have been paid a lot to do not too much in the last few years and we need to see that change.
In Australia a person who performs skilled manual labor is known as a tradie, short for tradesman.1
“We need to see unemployment rise. Unemployment has to jump 40-50 percent in my view. We need to see pain in the economy. We need to remind people that they work for the employer, not the other way around.
“I mean there’s been a systematic change where employees feel the employer is extremely lucky to have them as opposed to the other way around. It’s a dynamic that has to change. We’ve got to kill that attitude and that has to come through hurting the economy which is what the whole Global, you know, the governments around the world are trying to increase unemployment to get that to some sort of normality.
“And we’re seeing it. I think every employer is seeing it. There is definitely massive layoffs going on. People might not be talking about it, but people are definitely laying people off and we’re starting to see less arrogance in the employment market and that has to continue because that will cascade across the cost balance.”

What this Means
He’s uncovered the real truth about global capitalism:
Individual human life and suffering mean very little under this system.
Workers are units of productivity, not human beings with rich, unique lives with intrinsic value.
Though few in the moneyed class speak these truths, most share this sentiment. They simply don’t care about you, no matter what they say.
Who is Tim Gurner?
CEO and founder of the Gurner Group, Tim Gurner, develops luxury apartments in Australia. These projects include:
- A 1.75 billion dollar joint venture with the Liberman family for a mixed-use area within the Docklands section of Melbourne2
- A 200 million dollar apartment development in Sydney 3
- A myriad of build-to-rent projects 4
- An anti-ageing private social club5
Anti-Ageing Private Social Club?!
Saint Haven, Tim Gurner’s high-end health, wellness and anti-ageing brand is based near Melbourne’s central business district.
But why anti-ageing?
Many people fear death to some degree6. Many of the world’s ultra wealthy have spent obscene sums of money to cheat death as long as they can.7
It’s no wonder that so many grifters use the promise of pseudo-medicinal nonsense to separate the wealthy from their money.
We just don’t usually see it from someone who is already rich.
What sort of ‘treatment’ options does Tim Gurner offer?
He offers primarily a mix of high- and low-tech pseudo-scientific remedies, including:
I was unable to find any information on the company’s website about chanting, hugging, or the IV drips they use. Therefore, those have no citations about their benefits, pseudo-scientific or otherwise.
In addition, the club offers “biohacking,” anti-ageing packages including annual full-body MRI, brain scans, and monthly blood testing for the absolutely reasonable price of $250,000.
The white-uniformed staff serve the members “medicinal” tequila and semi-hallucinogenic kava drinks as they iron their clothes and polish their shoes.
But, don’t fear, Gurner will make the clubs affordable for the average person, and “scale” them to include memberships for as little as $150 per week.
Where did Tim Gurner’s Money Come From?
He bought his first apartment at 18 and flipped it. Gurner spent long nights sanding floors and painting walls.
He worked for every penny. And he worked hard.
Oh, but the $34,000 he got from his grandfather to secure a loan didn’t hurt.12
He’s another rich kid who refuses to recognize that not everyone has relatives who can afford to lose large sums of money to give them a start on a risky venture.
TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read)
In my opinion, Tim Gurner is another entitled, wealthy asshole who builds a living on the backs of the working class. He recognizes this and is a vocal advocate of the moneyed, ruling class to continue their subjugation of those he views as being beneath him.
